Land in Colombo, settle in by the sea, then climb into the hill country via Pinnawala elephant orphanage for Kandy and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth — the cultural heart of the island.
Day three is the sunrise climb of Sigiriya rock fortress and the Dambulla cave temples. On day four we cool the pace with a Negombo lagoon boat ride and the morning fish market before the short transfer to the airport.

Pinnawala · Kandy
Drive into the hill country with a mid-morning Pinnawala elephant orphanage stop for the river bath. Evening Temple of the Sacred Tooth puja in Kandy.
Sigiriya
Transfer north to the cultural triangle. Climb Sigiriya rock fortress and the painted Mirror Wall, then the Dambulla cave temples on the way back.
Negombo · Departure
Drop down to the coast for a Negombo lagoon boat ride and the lively morning fish market, then the short transfer to the airport.
