Heritage Trail of Sri Lanka
Nine days through the soul of the island — Anuradhapura's ruined stupas, Sigiriya's lion rock, the sacred city of Kandy, the misted hills of Ella and the Dutch ramparts of Galle.
We begin on the west coast at Negombo, then head inland to Anuradhapura — Sri Lanka's first royal capital — and two unhurried days in Sigiriya for the rock fortress and Dambulla cave temples.
From Kandy we ride the famous blue train into Ella for cloud-forest walks and the Nine Arch Bridge, before dropping south to Galle Fort and the coast for the final leg back to the airport.
